Thomas Kustor

Thomas is a partner in Vienna and a member of the dispute resolution practice. He specialises in the conduct of lawsuits in all fields of business law and conducts high profile litigation cases, especially in a multi-jurisdictional context, for corporate and financial clients. Thomas has established a niche in investigation work.

Thomas has developed expertise in handling contentious cases (mostly sensitive in nature), the increasingly busy area of advising clients on damage claims after cartel issues and, more generally, class actions. More recently, he has established a niche in investigations work, an area which is becoming more and more relevant for all clients.

Joined Freshfields in 1999. Partner since 2001.

Member of the Austrian Bar Association.

Thomas authored numerous articles, including as co-author and editor of the book on ‘Internal Investigations’ as well as author of articles on dispute resolution.

In addition to the qualifications gained through his studies in Austria, Thomas holds a Masters of Law degree from the University of Exeter. He speaks German and English.
