Jonathan See

Jonathan is a partner in Toronto and Co-Head of the firm’s national M&A and Private Equity Groups. He is one of Canada’s most well-known M&A lawyers, acting for many of the leading financial sponsors in the market and strategic buyers on a wide range of domestic and cross-border transactions, particularly in infrastructure and digital infrastructure, technology, energy and energy transition, mining and real estate. His practice includes complex public and private M&A, private equity investments and joint ventures, and he has longstanding relationships with many of the world’s leading financial sponsors and strategic investors. An accomplished dealmaker, he is also recognized by The Legal 500, IFLR1000 and Lexpert for his work in M&A, private equity and related transactional matters, and was previously named a Lexpert Rising Star, recognizing Canada’s leading lawyers under 40. Jonathan led the McCarthy Tétrault team advising Brookfield Infrastructure on its approximately C$16 billion acquisition and privatization of Inter Pipeline, which was recognized as M&A Deal of the Year at the Canadian Law Awards.
