Career

John T.L. Koenig maintains a national practice representing management in virtually all aspects of labor and employment law. John has proven experience guiding companies through complex personnel and union relations issues. His approach combines strategic advice and practical foresight based on decades of experience in helping deliver business solutions – not just legal advice.

He excels in advising on traditional labor law matters ranging from collective bargaining to arbitrations, helping companies navigate relationships with virtually every union. John has served as management-side lead negotiator in collective bargaining at facilities around the country. His training programs are known for equipping supervisors with effective, lawful communication strategies during critical periods such as bargaining and organizing campaigns.

Compliance is at the core of John's counseling services. He partners with legal, HR, and business teams to develop practical and effective labor and employee relations strategies to help avoid litigation. When disputes arise, John brings first chair jury trial experience and serving as lead counsel in high-stakes preliminary injunction hearings and administrative trials and proceedings. John’s calm demeanor frequently proves invaluable in emotionally charged scenarios.

John has been a leader in the community as well, having served in positions in state government, counsel to political campaigns, and on boards of directors for nonprofits that tackle child abuse, neglect, and family homelessness, improving the lives of Hispanic students, and fighting hunger and food insecurity.
