John is a former federal healthcare fraud prosecutor and experienced trial attorney. John represents companies and executives in internal investigations, government and congressional investigations, criminal prosecutions, and civil litigation related to healthcare fraud and abuse matters involving the FCA, AKS, Stark Law, FDCA, and others. John serves as outside compliance and investigations counsel to health systems and life sciences companies, including those subject to Corporate Integrity Agreements. John has extensive experience in managed care working with providers and plans to ensure compliant practices in the risk adjustment space. John’s practice spans industries with a particular emphasis on healthcare and life sciences.

Joined Barnes & Thornburg in 2022, previously served as Washington, D.C. office managing partner for Bass, Berry & Sims. John served as a federal prosecutor with the Department of Justice (DOJ) where he held a number of leadership positions.
