Lisa Wolgast focuses her practice on creditors’ rights and bankruptcy issues, representing creditors in and out of bankruptcy in state and federal court. Lisa also represents borrowers in workouts and restructuring matters. Her practice also includes complex commercial litigation and arbitration.

Lisa regularly represents creditors in complex workouts, protects creditors’ rights under Chapters 7 and 11 of the Bankruptcy Code, defends lender liability claims, represents creditors in preference and fraudulent transfer claims brought by bankrupt debtors and trustees, and handles complex valuation proceedings. She also represents creditors and liquidating agents in fraudulent transfer and preference claims and represents various fiduciaries, including receivers, in the sale of assets.

Notably, Lisa also has a well-rounded commercial litigation background. She has experience litigating disputes in many areas of the law, including creditors’ rights, bankruptcy, healthcare, partnership disagreements, breaches of sale agreements, and general commercial disputes for local and national clients in federal and state courts. Lisa has worked on complex arbitrations before the London Court of International Arbitration, American Arbitration Association, and JAMS.

Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Lisa was a partner at an AmLaw 200 law firm in Atlanta, where she focused her practice on creditors’ rights, bankruptcy and commercial litigation.
