Co-Chair, Environmental Department. Concentrates in environmental transactional and administrative law, representing developers, property and business owners, landlords/tenants, manufacturers and others. Assists in the evaluation, allocation and avoidance of liabilities under federal and state environmental laws, including New Jersey’s Industrial Site Recovery Act (ISRA) and Spill Compensation and Control Act, the federal CERCLA statute, Underground Storage Tanks (UST) regulations, and New Jersey’s Site Remediation Reform Act and Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) program. Provides counsel on compliance obligations and risk management options associated with the acquisition, cleanup and redevelopment of contaminated properties/brownfields. Services include negotiation of environmental provisions in contracts, leases and loan documents, oversight of environmental due diligence in real estate transactions, negotiation with regulatory agencies including EPA and New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, guidance on environmental conditions including asbestos, mold, and vapor intrusion at commercial properties.
