Jason is a specialist in public law, public procurement, EU law, information and human rights law. His recent notable cases include Gardner v Secretary of State for Health (on discharge of hospital patients into care homes at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic) Camelot UK Ltd v the Gambling Commission (on the award of the licence to operate the National Lottery), British Gas v Secretary of State for Energy Securing (the subsidy control challenge to the sale of Bulb Energy to Octopus Energy), R (TransActual) v Secretary of State for Health (on the emergency ban on puberty blockers to treat gender dysphoria in children), R (TTT) v Michaela Community Schools Trust (challenge to prohibition of prayer rituals on school premises) and Surrey Searches v Northumbrian Water & others (Environmental Information Regulations claim for reimbursement of fees paid for drainage and water searches). He was a Deputy High Court Judge between 2018-2024 and is a member of the Football Association’s General Appeals Panel. He is a member of the Northern Ireland Bar.
