Career

Heloisa is a highly experienced lawyer who has worked with environmental law for more than 25 years. Her practice covers environment consultancy, due diligences, compliance, ESG and litigation. She advises on complex litigation involving contaminated areas, protected areas, pollution, waste management and environmental licensing, as well as on environmental liabilities, compliance and due diligences for M&A, finance, infrastructure, and real estate transactions.

Since 2020 she founded and led Verri Paiva, a firm specialized in Environmental Law. Prior to that, Heloisa was the environmental partner at Gasparini, Nogueira de Lima e Barbosa Advogados (2017-2020), at Tabet Advogados (2012-2016) and the head of the Environmental Department at Cescon Barrieu (2005-2012). Additionally, she worked for Pepsico from 2002 to 2005) and as an associate at Trench Rossi Watanabe (2000-2002).

Heloisa holds an LL.B. (1999) and LL.M. (2010) from Catholic University of São Paulo - PUC. Specialized in Environmental Law (University of São Paulo - USP), Consumer Law (Catholic University of São Paulo - PUC) and ESG (University of California, Berkeley Law).

Professional Memberships

In January 2011, Heloisa was invited by the President of the Industrial Federation of São Paulo State (FIESP) to become a member of the Superior Environmental Counsel of FIESP. She was also invited for several times to provide training sessions to the State Attorneys, regarding environmental licensing and zoning regulations. Currently, Heloisa is a permanent member of the environmental commission of OAB/SP and an active member of UBAA (Environmental Lawyers Association).
