Garrett specialises in the development, acquisition, disposal and funding of energy and infrastructure assets. He has extensive domestic and international experience on cross-border transactions for Irish and international clients.

He has been lead partner on a very broad range of domestic and cross border corporate transactions, investments/divestments (at both pre and post FID stage) and fundraisings. Garrett works across several inter-related disciplines including energy, project finance, corporate/M&A and private equity. Garrett works on multiple energy and corporate infrastructure matters including M&A, JV structuring and co-development structures. Garrett has been at the forefront of Irish renewables since 2005 having worked on several pioneering projects in onshore wind, solar, biogas and biomass and interconnection.

Garrett has been one of the most active energy and project finance lawyers in Ireland having worked on more than €3bn in Irish energy and infrastructure financings and refinancings – with bilateral, portfolio and all equity structures.

Garrett has particular expertise in joint ventures and partnerships utilising varied structures including limited partnerships, incorporated and unincorporated joint ventures, shareholder and stakeholder agreements. Garrett regularly leads on transactional work across Ireland including the purchase, sale, development, and financing of multiple projects in the renewable and conventional power sectors in addition to battery storage and ancillary services. Garrett has experience in the drafting and negotiation of all manner of corporate, shareholder and investment agreements in the energy and infrastructure markets. Within his practice, he has advised on multiple re-organisations for borrower and funder clients.
