Career

Fernando is the Partner responsible for leading the Litigation and Arbitration department of Pinsent Masons Madrid. He specialises in the resolution of civil and commercial disputes in complex cases, bringing extensive experience in contractual and non-contractual liability proceedings, both in national and international arbitration and in legal proceedings before the ordinary courts. In ordinary jurisdiction, it participates in all instances, including extraordinary appeals before the Supreme Court.

In particular he specialises in disputes arising from engineering and construction projects, as well as disputes in the financial and security markets sectors. He has extensive experience in the energy, M&A, real estate, hotel, insurance, pharmaceutical and food & agriculture sectors. In commercial matters he has experience in proceedings regarding directors’ liability, the challenging of corporate resolutions and unfair competition. In addition, he specialises in claims for damages arising from infringements of Competition Law (antitrust litigation) and class actions.

He regularly acts as a solicitor and arbitrator in national and international commercial arbitration and has extensive experience in arbitration before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Court of Arbitration of Madrid (CAM), the Spanish Court of Arbitration (CEA), the Civil and Commercial Arbitration Court (CIMA), the Court of Arbitration of the Madrid Bar Association (ICAM) and ad hoc arbitrations. In addition, he has participated in investment arbitration under UNCITRAL rules.

He has extensive experience in advising national and international clients in business restructuring processes and pre-insolvency and insolvency proceedings.
