Douglas Paine

Douglas is a leading junior with extensive experience of complex and high-value commercial litigation and international arbitration. His practice covers a broad range of commercial disputes, including banking and finance, civil fraud, energy and group litigation work. Current and recent cases include: PIFSS v Al Rajaan & Ors (defending claims based on alleged payment of secret commissions as part of US$900 million consolidated Commercial Court proceedings), FW Aviation v VietJet (liability appeal in high value aircraft financing dispute), and Various Claimants v Glencore & Ors (multi-action shareholder claims brought under section 90 of FMSA).
