Debra focuses her practice on complex environmental and toxic tort litigation, with particular experience defending multiparty groundwater contamination cases involving the New Jersey Spill Act, CERCLA, and claims for personal injury and property damage. She represents clients in state and federal courts nationwide and also handles related matters such as product liability and chemical exposure claims. Her litigation experience includes defending large-scale contamination cases, including benzene and petroleum exposure, and representing clients in CERCLA actions involving hundreds of potentially responsible parties.
In addition to litigation, Debra advises clients on environmental compliance and due diligence in connection with property transactions and brownfield redevelopment. She regularly counsels on regulatory requirements under ISRA, UST rules, and the Site Remediation Reform Act, and assists in securing environmental and land use permits at all levels of government. Debra also handles enforcement actions and matters involving emerging contaminants such as PFAS and 1,4-dioxane. She serves as Co-Chair of Archer’s Personnel Committee, is a founding Co-Chair of the firm’s Women Lawyers Network, and sits on the Diversity Committee.
