Christopher Badger

Christopher Badger is a leading junior barrister with a nationally recognised practice in environmental law. Ranked as a Star Individual in the Environment category, he is known for his deep expertise in regulatory investigations and enforcement, acting for both corporate and individual clients as well as the Environment Agency.

He is regularly instructed in complex and high-profile matters, including cases involving hazardous waste disposal, waste exportation, and environmental issues linked to major infrastructure projects such as the Thames Tideway super-sewer. His practice spans early-stage strategic advice through to trial and appellate advocacy.

Christopher has appeared in several landmark cases, including Environment Agency v Walker & Son (Hauliers) Ltd, the defining authority on landowner liability, and R v Rogers, Beaman and Tapecrown Ltd, a leading case on fresh evidence in sentence appeals. He also acted in Environment Agency v Tapecrown Ltd, which clarified the Court of Appeal’s jurisdiction in contempt proceedings.
