Carlos Pérez-Cotapos

Partner since 1999. He was a partner of the law firm Díez Pérez-Cotapos Silva & Lira since 1992, that merged with Cariola in 1999. Universidad Gabriela Mistral Law School, (LLB 1987). He has worked in the Corporate, Commercial, Mining, Water, Surface and Environmental Law areas, advising Chilean and foreign clients on national and international transactions. He has led the teams involved in significant foreign investment projects, and in the mining area he has participated in the mergers and acquisitions of mining companies and the financing of mining projects. Carlos has also participated as a legal advisor in various mining projects, such as Escondida, Collahuasi, Cerro Colorado, Spence, Iván, Lomas Bayas, Pimentón, Altonorte, El Morro, Pachón, Minera Cordillera, Caserones, among others.

Officer of the IBA Mining Committee; Chilean Bar Association; Australian and Canadian Chamber of Commerce; Rocky Mountain Foundation; officer of the IBA (SEERIL); Prospector and Developer of associations of Canada.

He taught Mining Law at Universidad Andrés Bello. He is a regular lecturer in seminars and congress of the IBA and Rocky Mountain. He has been recognized as top mining lawyer in several publications.

He has been appointed as Managing Partner of the Firm since January 1st, 2024.
