Mr. Carlos Beraún Mac-Long is a Senior Associate at Diez Canseco with extensive experience in antitrust and consumer protection law. He has advised clients on merger control, unfair competition, consumer law, and compliance programs, with a strong track record representing companies in administrative proceedings before INDECOPI.
Previous positions include Senior Associate at Lazo & De Romaña in the Competition practice, Senior Lawyer at Ripley’s Legal Department, and several roles at the Tribunal of INDECOPI, both in the Competition Chamber and the Consumer Protection Chamber, where he handled complex litigation in antitrust, unfair competition, advertising, and consumer protection cases. He also served as a legal advisor at the National Directorate of Competition at INDECOPI, focusing on merger control.
Mr. Beraún holds an MSc in Comparative Law, Economics and Finance from the International University College of Turin, a Master’s degree in Intellectual Property and Competition Law (with honors) from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, and a Law degree from Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. He also completed specialized diplomas in Competition and Economic Regulation from Universidad de Valladolid, as well as postgraduate executive programs in Competition and Consumer Protection from Universidad del Pacífico.
Additionally, he has taught Consumer Law at Universidad San Martín de Porres and lectured at INDECOPI’s training school. His academic contributions include articles published in IUS 360 (PUCP), TIDA (UNMSM), and Themis (PUCP)
