Omar Alvarado

Omar Alvarado is a partner in the departments of Competition of Diez Canseco Abogados, but also is part of the Intellectual Property department of the firm. He is a skilled attorney with an extensive experience of over 15 years, which includes a deep management of several fields, such as Intellectual Property, Competition and Data Privacy. This mixed background is unique to be found among their peers in the Intellectual Property arena and enables him to address the matters from an angle outside de IP field. He also blends his practitioner knowledge with a public perspective since he served as senior attorney for about 6 years in the Peruvian Competition and Intellectual Property Agency (INDECOPI).

Mr. Alvarado is also engaged in the Intellectual Property academia. He teaches at the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas a course on advertising and IP. Likewise, he has participated as speaker in several training courses and workshops aimed at discussing the interaction of IP with competition, as well as other trending topics.

Mr. Alvarado holds a law degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, as well as a MSc in Regulation, degree obtained from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
