Benjamin Haskin

Benjamin Haskin is a partner in the Asset Management Department. Ben advises mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, private funds, investment advisers and broker-dealers on a wide range of investment management issues, including compliance, corporate governance, enforcement and regulatory matters. He represents fund boards of directors and conducts internal reviews on behalf of investment companies and investment advisers. He additionally advises investment managers on matters related to the purchase and sale of advisory businesses and other consolidation transactions, as well as tokenization, money market funds and new product development. Ben is known for his experience with exchange-traded funds, including in connection with their exemptive relief, launch of unique product, mutual fund conversions and other ETF matters. He has published numerous articles and participated in a number of ABA committees organized to comment on proposed SEC rules.

Ben is a co-author of the ABA’s Fund Director’s Guidebook (2024). Ben was named as Independent Counsel of the Year by a registered fund industry publication (With Intelligence, 2023 Mutual Fund and ETF Awards) and won the Highly Commended Award for “Under the Microscope: Valuation and Hedge Funds" (2010 Journal of Investment Compliance).

Prior to practicing law, Mr. Haskin was an Associate Consultant at Bain & Co.
