Barney advises financial institutions, investors, insolvency practitioners and boards of directors on a wide range of matters related to corporate and financial restructuring or insolvency.
The work that Barney frequently relates to multinational groups of companies, listed businesses and larger UK corporates in a variety of sectors, including retail and consumer goods, commercial real estate, care homes, manufacturing and financial services.
Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland in April 2024 Barney was a partner at DLA Piper, where he trained and qualified as a solicitor in 2006.
Barney was recognised as a leading individual in his field in the 2024 edition of Legal 500, which noted his “invaluable advice and insight regarding high-value, often cross-border insolvency and restructuring mandates”.
