Barbara Reeves

Barbara A. Reeves, Esq., is a mediator, arbitrator and special master with JAMS. She mediates and arbitrates business and commercial matters, with expertise in intellectual property, antitrust and competition, health care, sports and entertainment, construction, insurance coverage and employment. She has been a full-time neutral since 2006. Her years of experience allow her to focus settlement discussions in a manner most likely to achieve resolution. Working with counsel, she develops agendas for mediations with consideration for the unique issues and personalities presented by each case.

Before becoming a full-time neutral, Ms. Reeves was a litigator for more than 30 years. She worked with the United States Department of Justice, Antitrust Division, in Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles; as a partner at prominent national law firms; and as associate general counsel and vice president for Southern California Edison and Edison International.

Ms. Reeves is an arbitrator on the Court of Arbitration for Sport, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, an officer of the College of Commercial Arbitrators and a certified mediator with the International Mediation Institute. She received her J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School.
