Angharad is a Legal Director who leads our Inquiries and Investigations offering in Wales and is a long-standing, senior member of the national Eversheds Sutherland Inquiries & Investigations team.

Angharad has led and been a core team member in some of the firm’s most high profile public inquiries, with examples of her recent work being:

• Leading governance investigations for public sector clients.

• Leading teams representing Core Participants in the Southport Inquiry, Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry, the Infected Blood Inquiry, Grenfell Tower Inquiry and Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse.

• Leading the Solicitor team in the Sabina Rizvi Inquest.

• Acting as the Solicitor to the Independent Jersey Care Inquiry investigating historical abuse of children in care, and the regulatory framework surrounding care homes.

• Assisting clients providing evidence to the Manchester Arena Inquiry and the UK Covid-19 Inquiry.

As a specialist in this field, Angharad is skilled across every aspect of public inquiry, confidential governance investigations and inquest work, including the important preparatory work to ensure that her clients are prepared for their engagement with the various inquiries, investigations and inquests. Angharad has led teams conducting internal reviews and supervised audits in order to report to the clients and fully advise them in advance of participating in public investigations. She is trusted by clients and witnesses alike to deliver the most positive outcome in often challenging situations. She is known as a “consummate professional and, in the best possible way, a public inquiry nerd” who “really goes above and beyond with her service”.

Described as “meticulous”, Angharad leads large teams conducting document review exercises as part of the inquiry process and has advised on issues of privilege. Angharad’s “attention to detail never fails to impress and she is able to provide strategic advice from a position of confidence”. She often has a project management role on inquiries, due to her “outstanding… organisational skills”. An example of this is being a key member of the team on a banking investigation into the mis-selling of hedging products. Angharad is ranked as a Star Associate in respect of her inquiry expertise and an Associate to Watch in respect of her Administrative and Public Law work.

Angharad is experienced in handling protectively marked material and is Prince II qualified. She contributes regularly to articles and leads on training in aspects of public inquiry legislation.
