Andrea York

Andrea is the Practice Group Leader of the Blakes National Employment & Labour group and Co-Chair of the Firm's Privacy group. Andrea is an experienced advocate with over 25 years of practice devoted to advising corporations and other employers on employment and privacy law matters. With a practice that predominantly focuses on providing practical day-to-day advice and defending employers when employee disputes arise, she works with clients in a variety of sectors, including banking and financial services, retail, manufacturing, health sciences, technology, and marketing and advertising. Andrea also advises on the employment aspects of commercial transactions, reorganizations, insolvencies and outsourcing transactions.

Andrea is a member of the Canadian Association of Counsel to Employers, the International Association of Privacy Professionals, the Canadian Bar Association, and The Advocates' Society. She is sought after for media interviews and regularly writes on employment and privacy law topics. Andrea has appeared at all levels of the Ontario courts and the Supreme Court of Canada.
