Yuval Shalheveth’s practice focuses on commercial law, banking and financial services, representing a variety of clients including banks, credit card companies, payment institutions, fintech companies and startups, blockchain and cryptocurrency players, as well as commercial corporations.
Yuval was involved in major transactions in this field, including the establishment and licensing of Israel’s first digital bank ; the acquisition of control in one of Israel’s largest banks; acquisition of control in one of Israel’s largest insurance companies; the implementation of the Basel II frameworks in Israel; financing transactions; issuance of co-branded credit cards; collaboration between banks and fintech companies. Yuval represents banks and fintech companies on various matters. Among other things, Yuval consults on matters relating to licensing and regulatory matters; AML/ CFT; transactions; investments; ISDA agreements and derivatives.
Yuval also represents banks, credit card companies and Fintech companies in a variety of matters. Among other things, this includes matters relating to ISDA agreements and derivatives and regulatory matters. He assisted banks with the implementation of Basel II / Basel III and the review of the relevant legal requirements, represented an Israeli bank in proceedings with various Lehman Brothers companies, and represented the clients in the acquisition of control in one of Israel’s largest banks. He also represented clients in the acquisition of control in one of Israel largest insurance/ pension company.
Yuval also handles commercial and corporate law including commercial transactions, both local and international, investments, M&A and other matters.
Yuval has been ranked by major international guides (including Chambers, Legal 500 and IFLR) as well as local guides as a leading lawyer in Israel in the fields of banking, fintech and blockchain.
Yuval combines broad knowledge inter-disciplinary understanding, including experience in litigation and other legal fields.
Yuval received his LL.B. in 1996 and his LL.M in 2008 from The Hebrew University in Jerusalem, the latter in a joint program with Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Yuval joined the firm in 1999 and became a partner in 2006.
