Wilson is a trusted advisor and experienced litigator who has focused his practice on all aspects of the employee-employer relationship. This includes advising employers on all aspects of workplace law, including wrongful dismissal claims, labour board and grievance arbitrations, human rights, workers’ compensation and occupational health and safety matters, residential tenancy matters (staff accommodations), as well as conducting workplace investigations and counselling on privacy and cybersecurity-related issues. Wilson is experienced in trial, appellate and arbitral work and has successfully appeared before the Alberta Court of Justice, the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta, the Court of Appeal of Alberta, as well as a number of quasi-judicial bodies, including, but not limited to, the Alberta Human Rights Tribunal, the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal, the Alberta Labour Relations Board, the Canadian Industrial Relations Board, the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada, and even the Residential Tenancy Dispute Resolution Service on behalf of employers.
In addition to fostering healthy workplaces, Wilson is also committed to his community and currently sits as the Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of Student Legal Assistance, a non-profit charitable organization and pro-bono legal clinic at the University of Calgary Faculty of Law that provides legal information and representation to low-income residents of Calgary and the surrounding area.
