Wendy J Wagner

Wendy Wagner is a partner in Gowling WLG's Ottawa office and co-leader of the firm's Cyber Security and Data Protection Law Group. Her practice focuses on international trade, privacy and information security, and administrative law.

In her international trade practice, Wendy advises on trade and investment agreements, export controls, sanctions/embargoes and customs compliance.

Among other publications, she has been recognized in Chambers Global.

In her data protection practice, Wendy advises on federal and provincial privacy laws applicable to the public and private sectors and health information laws. She assists companies with their compliance programs and conducts privacy and security training and exercises, and assists companies to prevent, manage and report data breach incidents.

Wendy conducts international trade and data security/privacy-related due diligence in transactions, prepares data protection agreements, and advises on cross-border data transfers. She prepares anti-spam compliance policies/programs and advises on CASL compliance.

Wendy has appeared as counsel in access to information, defamation, administrative law and international trade and investment matters before tribunals, the Ontario Courts, the Federal Courts and the SCC.
