Career

Vaclav Rovensky specializes primarily in energy construction projects and related agenda. He participated in many pioneering energy projects in the Czech Republic. He advised on the financing, construction, commissioning and operation of coal and gas power facilities of ALPIQ in the Czech Republic, assisted Arcelor Mittal on the spin-off of its energy division in the Czech Republic, and recently advised one of the consortiums in the process of preparation of bids in respect of Czech law issues (construction law, transportation law, financing and public procurement) relating to the D4 Motorway, which was the first PPP financing of a motorway after almost 20 years from the last such attempt in the Czech Republic. Vaclav advises private entities, international investors as well as utilities on contractual and regulatory aspects of Czech law, among other matters re renewables and CO2 emission allowances trading, and provides complex advice on construction contracts. Václav has been a contributor to various international energy publications and has been recognized as an energy law expert by key ranking agencies, including Chambers&Partners, IFLR1000 and Legal 500.
