Umbreen Meenai is a seasoned finance lawyer with more than a decade of experience advising financial institutions, private equity houses, asset managers, investment houses, corporates and government-related borrowers on a broad spectrum of finance-related matters including leveraged finance, restructurings, real-estate finance, asset-backed finance, project finance and trade finance transactions, using both conventional and Islamic structures. She has been based in the UAE for over ten years, having previously worked for a Magic Circle law firm in London.

Umbreen has led on numerous landmark finance and restructuring transactions in the Middle East and beyond. Her significant expertise in Islamic finance is widely recognized in the market - she has been the key adviser on several award-winning and precedent-setting Islamic finance deals in the region across various asset classes and industries.

With an additional focus on private credit and sustainable finance, Umbreen helps her clients navigate through complex legal situations and regulatory landscapes in established as well as nascent market segments.
