Denise Jong

Denise co-chairs Reed Smith’s Global Corporate Group. Based in Hong Kong, she has, throughout her career, focused on transactions mainly in Greater China and South-east Asia.

The diversity of her practice has seen her support start-ups, be in the thick of private equity investments, negotiate and execute both public company takeovers and private company M&As, and lead more than 50 successful IPOs on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. After an IPO, she continues to advise her clients on secondary debt and equity issues, spin-offs, corporate governance and compliance, and regulatory investigations. Throughout her career, she has also advised on a number of high profile IPOs, corporate restructurings and privatisations of listed companies in Hong Kong.

Denise is a popular choice among Mainland Chinese, Hong Kong and multinational companies for her three decades of experience in Asia. She continues to be widely recognised and ranked by legal directories.

Denise was a member of the firm’s Executive Committee between 2008 and 2015, and served as the firm’s Asia Pacific Managing Partner from 2018 to 2020.
