Charlie has nearly 30 years' experience as a disputes and commercial lawyer for his clients in the shipping and commodities trading industries and is regularly ranked by Chambers.
His clients include owners, charterers, traders, shipbuilders, P&I Clubs, underwriters, shipping and trade finance banks and private equity investors. His practice includes advising on charterparty and cargo disputes, international sale of goods, marine insurance claims, sanctions, casualties, ship sale and purchase, ship and superyacht building, ship finance, work outs and shareholder issues, ship management, pools, piracy, and other shipping and trading related disputes.
As well as Commercial Court, Court of Appeal and Privy Council experience, Charlie handles arbitrations under LMAA, LCIA, ICC, SIAC, SCMA and CAMP rules, and is regularly instructed in relation to worldwide freezing orders, anti-suit injunctions, corporate veil piercing, asset tracing and fraud, and other emergency injunctive relief.
Based currently in London, he has previously also worked in Reed Smith’s Athens and Abu Dhabi offices.
