Having worked in the legal field for almost a few decades, I have had time to dig into contract law issues related to international construction and projects, dispute resolution and banking. I have numerous years of experience in advising clients in dispute proceedings in both civil courts and arbitration institutes. I have served as an arbitrator in numerous domestic and international arbitration proceedings. I am specialised in international trade contracts, project agreements, bank guarantees, trade finance issues such as letters of credit, and documentary credits.
I am a doctor of laws and a docent in contract law and international trade law at the University of Turku. I have been asked to serve as Professor of Practice in Advocacy at the University of Helsinki for the period of 2018-2022 on a part-time basis. This professorship is unique and the first of its kind in the world. I have written my dissertation, which has been used at universities as teaching material, on international trade contracts and documentary credits.
