Ted Betts

Edward (Ted) Betts is a partner in Gowling WLG's Toronto office and Head of the firm’s Infrastructure & Construction Sector Group.

Certified by the Law Society of Ontario as a Specialist in Construction, Ted works in all sectors involving construction projects, including commercial construction, infrastructure and civil works, power and energy, mining and transit/transportation. He acts on all aspects of tendering, negotiating and drafting of construction contracts, structuring, project management, project financing, and sales, and quarterbacks large-scale construction, infrastructure and development projects coordinating and supervising the delivery of project documents, regulatory and government approvals, project and partner structuring, OHS planning and insurance and risk advice.

Ted is the former Chair of the Ontario Bar Association’s Construction and Infrastructure Law Section and Construction Lien Act Reform Committee.

He has also been recognized in The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory, the Legal 500 Canada and The Best Lawyers™ in Canada and named an Acritas Star in 2019 and 2020.
