Tae Jin Cha is a partner in the Corporate & Finance Practice. Mr. Cha practices primarily in the areas of real estate transaction, securities/finance disputes and response to sanctions on financial institutions. Mr. Cha received his LL.B from the College of Law of Seoul National University in 1997 and received his LL.M from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2005. Mr. Cha passed the New York Bar exam in 2006. After Mr. Cha completed his training at the Judicial Research and Training Institute in 1999, he joined Yulchon LLC in 2002 after serving as a judge advocate in the Korean army. Mr. Cha also worked at the Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP. Hong Kong office on secondment. Mr. Cha started his career as lawyer in the Corporate & Finance Practice where he provided legal advice for various matters including foreign securities issuances, domestic and overseas stock market listing, collective investment scheme, derivatives transactions, NPL investments, structured finance transactions such as ABS, financial regulation, M&A involving financial institutions, insolvency proceedings, real estate transactions, and real estate financings. Leveraging these experiences, he has been involved in a variety of real estate transactions and has expanded his practice to cover financial regulation advisory, securities/finance disputes, response to sanctions on financial institutions as well.
