Career

Dong Ryul Choi is a Managing Partner of Yulchon. Prior to this leadership role, he served as the Head of Yulchon’s Dispute Resolution Practice. Before joining the firm, he served as a judge for 22 years before retiring as the Presiding Judge at the Seoul Central District Court.Mr. Choi also worked as a Research Judge and Chief Research Judge of the Korean Supreme Court for five years, contributing to the formation of many important precedents in the fields of securities transactions, bankruptcy, international trade, business-related criminal cases and election cases. In addition, he was involved in making and revising the sentencing guidelines as a Senior Research Fellow in the Sentencing Commission. He participated on the editorial board of the Lawyers Association Journal Bup Jo for several years as well. With a wealth of experience, he is now playing a key role in handling various corporate, financial, and criminal cases.
