Stacy Newman

Stacy Newman is a member of the Bankruptcy & Corporate Restructuring Department at Cole Schotz. She focuses her practice on corporate bankruptcy, business restructuring, and insolvency-related matters, with significant experience advising stakeholders across complex chapter 7 and chapter 11 proceedings. Her client base includes debtors, lenders, creditor committees, trustees, landlords, lienholders, contract counterparties, distressed asset acquirers, equity holders, and corporate directors and officers. Stacy also has substantial experience in bankruptcy-related litigation, including disputes involving preferences, fraudulent transfers, and state law claims. Complementing her restructuring practice, she has represented clients in corporate and commercial litigation matters before Delaware's Court of Chancery and Superior Court, providing strategic counsel across a broad range of business disputes. A cum laude graduate of Albany Law School and former Managing Editor of the Albany Law Review, Stacy is actively involved in the restructuring and legal communities through industry organizations, bar association leadership, and law student mentorship.
