Seth Jaffe represents clients in permitting/licensing of new facilities and compliance work, including matters under federal and state Clean Air Acts, Clean Water Acts, RCRA, and MEPA/NEPA. He has expertise in development, permitting, and compliance for many types of facilities, including energy generation, chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturing, and hospitals and other health care facilities. He has handled many matters under federal and state Superfund laws, including working with consultants to attain cost-effective and protective cleanups; representing clients in defense of proceedings brought by government or private parties; and representing plaintiffs seeking recovery of response costs or property damage. He also represents clients in defense of federal and state enforcement actions. He is a past President of the American College of Environmental Lawyers and the lead author of the blog, lawandenvironment.com.
