Aaron Lang’s environmental and energy law practice covers a wide range of services, including energy facility siting and permitting, proceedings before energy and environmental regulatory agencies, federal and state incentives for sustainable technologies, compliance, litigation, and environmental diligence in transactions.

A partner in the firm’s Energy and Climate group, Aaron assists developers in securing the permits, licenses, and other approvals needed to build utility-scale offshore wind facilities, battery energy storage systems, and other large-scale facilities. He conducts permitting and environmental diligence in solar and other renewables project transactions. And he represents clients in regulatory proceedings before state public utilities commissions and other agencies in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

A core area of Aaron’s practice is advising on clean energy incentives under federal and state decarbonization programs, such as the Inflation Reduction Act, Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and the Renewable Fuel Standard and state equivalents, among others. Aaron’s experience extends to multiple technologies, including biomass-based fuels and eFuels, sustainable aviation fuels, clean hydrogen, carbon capture, and others.

Aaron also has extensive experience litigating and resolving complex environmental disputes, including under federal and state Superfund statutes, the federal Clean Air Act, and multiple Massachusetts environmental laws, including laws and regulations governing sustainable coastline development.

Aaron served for four months as a special assistant district attorney for Norfolk County, where he conducted seventeen criminal trials before judges and juries.

Aaron also maintains an active pro bono immigration practice, representing unaccompanied migrant children seeking lawful permanent residency in the United States.

Before joining the firm, Aaron served as law clerk for Justice Gary E. Hicks of the New Hampshire Supreme Court.
