Practice Areas

Adam Wade's practice focuses on advising clients across a wide range of energy and renewable energy projects and related transactions, including representation of developers, investors, host customers and power purchasers in connection with onshore and offshore wind, solar, fuel cell, stand-alone and solar-integrated battery storage, battery and fuel cell electric vehicle, hydrogen fuel, natural gas, geothermal, biomass, and other electric power projects. In advising clients in these constantly developing areas of law, his experience cuts across multiple disciplines, including corporate and company law, secured finance law, state, federal and local taxation and state and federal regulatory law. Adam’s work for energy consumers includes several engagements for large public companies in several industries, universities and health care institutions in virtual PPA and other energy transactions advancing their climate action plans and ESG disclosures.

Adam previously practiced in California during the early emergence of several significant energy trends now impacting the energy industry, including the rapid growth of IPPs developing merchant or PPA backed energy projects, combined cycle natural gas facilities, the buildout of GWs of portfolios of wind projects, turbine supply, maintenance and service matters, as well as the emergence of third-party DG and large scale solar PV projects, power purchase agreements and solar as a service business models. Since returning home to Massachusetts, Adam has continued to build upon his experience in renewables and emergent energy transactions and technologies, including significant representations involving virtual PPAs for wind and solar, PPA procurement and project development matters for offshore wind, contracts for differences, renewable attributes, net metering transactions, energy storage services, battery electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicle technologies and the continued integration of customer-focused, distributed, digital and renewable energy business models into services for buildings, energy and transportation markets.

Drawing on this experience, Adam provides practical and constructive support to clients while remaining focused on innovation in developing new business structures and transaction forms to keep up with the rapid pace of change in the industry.
