Jeffrey Collins, a member of the Foley Hoag Private Funds Group and the firm’s Executive Committee, has extensive experience in the formation of onshore and offshore hedge funds, funds of funds and other private funds, and also has significant experience in structuring management companies for private fund managers in order to achieve optimal business and tax results. Mr. Collins works with emerging managers looking to launch their first fund as well as institutional managers with multiple funds and billions of dollars in AUM. He also regularly advises institutional investors on their investments in private funds and in the negotiation of separate account agreements. Mr. Collins also counsels investment advisers on compliance with federal and state registration and regulatory requirements, and has provided guidance to numerous non-U.S. managers who seek to offer their private funds in the U.S.
