Sebastian is a leading practitioner specialising in complex and high value commercial disputes, in litigation and international arbitration. Seb is particularly noted for his user-friendly and commercial approach, and his command of the courtroom as a cross-examiner and advocate. Recent cases include: acting for the US asset manager TPG to defend billion dollar claims brought by Zia Magomedov arising from its investment in Russian infrastructure assets; for Credit Suisse in the Bermuda Court of Appeal defending claims for losses caused by a rogue trader; representing defendants in the high-value fraud claim between Otkritie Bank and the owners of the O1 Property Group; appearing in ICC arbitration for a Dutch infrastructure investment company in a dispute with its joint-venture partner in a shipping terminal; acting for shareholders of the failed Real Estate Investment Trust, Home REIT; representing an NFT auctioneer in a dispute with a high-value bidder; and conducting an independent investigation into the takeover of West Bromwich Albion FC. Seb also represented the Ukrainian billionaire Victor Pinchuk in his successful LCIA Arbitration and High Court actions against Igor Kolomoisky and Gennadiy Bogolyubov.
