Sean specialises in employment and sports law. His employment practice is broad. He acts for individuals, trade unions, employers' federations, international banks, airlines, public and private utilities, hospitals, universities, firms of solicitors, television and other media companies, local authorities, technology and computer companies and charities. He advises upon and litigates claims across the full range of employment issues including unfair and wrongful dismissal (including 'whistle-blowing' dismissals), race, sex, disability, sexual orientation and religious discrimination, equal pay and transfer of undertakings. He specialises in high value claims of particular complexity and has appeared as leader a number of times in the Supreme Court. His Sports practice is principally focused on football cases. He has represented a number of Premier League and other teams in manager and player disputes and for managers in disputes with their clubs.
Called to the Bar and joined Chambers in 1991. Appointed a Fee-paid Employment Judge in 2011, took silk in 2012 and appointed Recorder in 2019.
