Career

Sang Mi Baek is an attorney at Kim & Chang. She practices primarily in the areas of insurance, fintech and financial regulation & compliance. She mainly advises regulated financial institutions and fintech corporations. Ms. Baek has given counsel to a number of insurance companies, non-banking financial institutions, fintech corporations and financial holding companies. She has also been involved in various mergers and acquisitions of financial institutions. Ms. Baek advised domestic and overseas financial institutions and corporations on a wide range of financial transactions including IPOs and project financing transactions. In particular, she acquired extensive experience in advising financial institutions and finance-related institutions, including insurance companies, banks and non-banking financial institutions. Ms. Baek received her LL.B. in 2006 from Hanyang University and graduated the Judicial Research and Training Institute of the Supreme Court of Korea in 2008. She is admitted to the Korean bar.
