Career

Sang Mi Baek is an attorney at Kim & Chang. She practices primarily in the areas of insurance, fintech and financial regulation & compliance. She mainly advises regulated financial institutions and fintech corporations. Ms. Baek has given counsel to a number of insurance companies, non-banking financial institutions, fintech corporations and financial holding companies. She has also been involved in various mergers and acquisitions of financial institutions. Before joining Kim & Chang, Ms. Baek worked at Shin & Kim LLC for 13 years where she advised domestic and overseas financial institutions and corporations on a wide range of financial transactions including IPOs and project financing transactions. In particular, she acquired extensive experience in advising financial institutions and finance-related institutions, including insurance companies, banks and non-banking financial institutions.
