Robert Stevenson has over 20 years experience at the Criminal Bar, acting for the defence and prosecution.
He is regularly instructed in cases of murder, deaths or other serious injury at work, serious organised crime, and serious sexual offences.
Recent significant cases include the attempted murder of a police officer by shooting, corporate and gross negligence manslaughter arising from a death at work, serious health and safety offences brought against large corporations, offences in public office, and large-scale drug, fraud, and people-trafficking prosecutions.
Robert has prosecuted and defended, including as leading counsel, many multi-handed cases involving drugs, fraud and money-laundering, and has significant experience of cases involving high-profile individuals and companies.
He is well regarded within the profession for his sensible advice and sound judgement and was commended by the Home Office for his ‘Excellent investigative work, demonstrating tenacity under extreme pressure’ in a case brought against numerous individuals found to have abused the immigration system.
Robert has appeared for regulators, councils, and other interested parties at numerous inquests into death.
He is the head of the Health and Safety Team at PSQB, a grade four prosecutor for the CPS, and an A-list Specialist Regulatory Advocate.
