Rob Mindell

Career

Rob Mindell is a Senior Managing Director in the Strategic Communications segment of FTI Consulting in London. Rob leads on the firm’s litigation mandates — protecting and enhancing the reputation of clients engaged in business-critical disputes.

Rob delivers public relations counsel to corporations, business leaders and law firms, supporting litigation strategy with robust corporate affairs plans for all relevant stakeholders. He advises high-profile brands on cases in the media spotlight, with a strong track record on trademark and patent disputes, as well as businesses in changing regulatory and political environments.

Rob’s experience includes supporting clients through a number of agenda-setting cases, including the first opt-out class action to go to trial before the Competition Appeal Tribunal, a media sector transaction that prompted a change in foreign ownership laws and a landmark Material Adverse Effect test case at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. On regulatory matters, he has successfully supported clients through Competition and Markets Authority (“CMA”), European Commission (“EC”) and Federal Trade Commission (“FTC”) competition processes, as well as numerous investigations through industry regulators and statutory bodies. His pro bono work includes crisis management for NHS England through critical junctures of the pandemic, and has since provided regular communications advisory support to the National Pro Bono Centre.

Rob read law at St Catharine’s College, University of Cambridge. He is ranked by Chambers & Partners for Litigation PR & Communications, and by Mergermarket for transactions in the media and entertainment industry. In addition to client advisory, Rob also contributes to industry titles on public relations, including for PR Week on why public relations and legal professionals must work closer together.
