Davin Teo

Davin Teo is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Disputes and Investigations in Hong Kong. He leads the Forensic Technology Services team across Asia and specializes in digital investigations and electronic discovery matters. His primary areas of expertise are fraud investigations, electronic discovery, misconduct investigations, intellectual property theft investigations, dispute matters, and data recovery requests.

With more than 26 years of forensic technology experience and three years prior in accountancy, Mr. Teo has provided consultancy services in the field of forensic technology, electronic discovery, and IT audit to numerous national and international corporations, government bodies, and regulators. Mr. Teo has handled the eDiscovery phase for several cross-border international arbitrations seated in Singapore, Brazil, and London involving a global energy conglomerate based in China. The matters involved custodians and data spread across China, Europe, and Asia with a closed state secrets review with parallel hosted review platforms in Mainland of China, Hong Kong SAR, and the UK.

Mr. Teo is experienced in handling end-to-end electronic discovery matters for US, UK, and other international litigations. He has managed the electronic discovery phase of multiple US ITC section 337 International Trade Commission (ITC) matters for Mainland of China clients and also managed investigations for Mainland of China clients involved with the US FCPA, SEC, DOJ, and with Hong Kong regulatory bodies such as the Hong Kong Police, Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), and Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC).

Mr. Teo earned a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Queensland and is an EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE) with certifications in Ethical Hacking (CEH) and a Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI). He also holds a graduate certificate in financial management (GCFM)

Mr. Teo has experience working on matters involving numerous countries across Asia, Europe, Africa, and North America. Mr. Teo is a native English speaker and speaks conversational Cantonese and basic Mandarin.
