Richard Lock is a founding partner of Lakatos, Köves and Partners and leads the Corporate/M&A practice.
An English solicitor and European lawyer registered at the Budapest Bar; he has lived in Hungary for over 30 years. Richard began his career at Clifford Chance in London before moving to Budapest in 1992, where he became a partner. He has broad experience advising foreign investors on cross-border investments and corporate matters across Central Europe. Specialising in assisting Chinese companies with entering and expanding in Hungary, Richard advises on corporate law, joint ventures, and acquisitions.
He also manages the firm’s international law firm relationships, facilitating cross-border cooperation. Recognised as an "Eminent Practitioner" by Chambers Europe, Richard is a key figure supporting strategic investments in Hungary and Europe.
