Career

Ricardo Romero has more than 25 years of experience and focuses his practice on International Trade, Customs and Tax consulting.

His work includes obtaining authorizations and implementing export promotion programs, advising on the interpretation and application of international trade agreements, as well as the analysis, implementation, and defense of commercial remedies (antidumping, subventions, and safeguard measures).

Ricardo advises his clients on complex review procedures or audits carried out by authorities, with the purpose of resolving any controversy in administrative proceedings or, if necessary, assisting them to foresee and attend in an adequate and efficient manner an eventual litigation stage before the different courts.

He has vast experience in the aforementioned matters, both at the administrative level and in domestic courts, as well as in alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and international panels (Chapter XIX of NAFTA, in antidumping matters, etc.).

Ricardo also provides advisory services to foreign governments in the training of officials in various matters related to International Trade and the World Trade Organization (WTO) Agreements.

Ricardo has served as a professor at the Universidad Panamericana (UP), teaching Private International Law and International Commerce.
