Ricardo Gama is a partner in the Firm’s Litigation and Arbitration practice groups. As part of his practice, Mr. Gama has been actively engaged in highly complex cases, both in the various Brazilian courts and in arbitration. Mr. Gama is currently lead counsel in different arbitration proceedings for an international energy group relating to the construction of a wind power plant and a transmission line in the Northeast of Brazil, including a proceeding related to the M&A transaction through which the Client acquired the project. In court, Mr. Gama represents an international construction group in different lawsuits in Brazil relating to projects in the Energy and Infrastructure industries.
His experience with national and international arbitrations goes back to 2004. Graduated in the LL.M program of the University of Virginia (class of 2008) and member of the international associations, Ricardo is involved in arbitration proceedings and lawsuits covering a broad array of matters, representing national and international clients.
Mr. Gama’s practice also involves review and negotiation of commercial contracts, such as distribution and agency agreements, as well as participation in high profile insolvency cases. Mr. Gama has represented creditors and Trustees in most of the major recent restructuring cases in Brazil, as well as acted on behalf of international groups in liquidation proceedings to wind up their operations in the country.
