Career
Lívia Gândara is an associate at the Compliance & Investigations and Antitrust teams of Veirano Advogados.
In the area of Compliance & Investigations, she has experience in the conduction of internal corporate investigations into corruption, fraud and other corporate misconducts. Ms. Gândara's investigation background offers valuable contribution for her work in cases involving the Federal Prosecutor's Office, Federal Police, Congressional Investigations and Multilateral Development Banks. Also, she regularly assists clients with the development, implementation and testing of their corporate compliance programs.
Ms. Gândara's experience in antitrust and competition law involves the representation of clients, before competition authorities and in court, in cases related to anticompetitive practices, such as national and international cartels and abuse of dominant position. In this area, Ms. Gândara has also experience in the conduction of internal investigations, especially in support of clients seeking to apply for leniency agreements and/or settlements. She also provides legal advisory in transactions subject to notification to the Brazilian Competition Authorities.
After completing her LL.M at the University of Chicago in 2019, Ms. Gândara spent one year as a Global Visiting Lawyer at Covington & Burling LLP in Washington, D.C,, working with the Anti-corruption/FCPA Team of the firm.
Further to pro-bono matters, Ms. Gândara assisted individuals and NGOs on immigration issues in cases involving domestic violence and LGBTQIA+ violations.
