As trial counsel in class actions, multidistrict litigations, and cross-jurisdiction proceedings, Becky Kcehowski helps clients navigate complex consumer and commercial matters. For years, Becky has broken down tough issues for judges and juries, with two decades of experience litigating putative class cases and multiforum disputes in state and federal courts and international tribunals. Her breadth of experience yields creative approaches—including strategies to stop meritless mass and commercial actions before or shortly after they begin. Becky is well-known for her class action defense work and has defeated class certification in cases seeking hundreds of millions of dollars. She has successfully defended consumer, antitrust, mass tort, business-to-business, privacy, and economic fraud actions, including class actions alleging violations of the Lanham Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act, Sherman Act, consumer protection and unfair trade practices statutes, state and federal securities laws, as well as products liability, toxic tort, unfair competition, and contract claims. Becky drafts arbitration clauses and class waivers mitigating litigation and mass arbitration risk.
Becky also has developed a national reputation representing policyholders in insurance matters, with high-profile victories and hundreds of millions in recoveries.
Becky is Partner-in-Charge and head of litigation for Jones Day's Pittsburgh office.
