Rajah leads the Jersey Private Capital & Trusts group and advises local and international fiduciaries, family offices and ultra-high net worth individuals on wealth structuring and asset protection.

With over 20 years of experience in both private practice and in house, she delivers bespoke solutions for international families and family offices on establishing, managing, and winding up trusts, foundations, and related structures across Jersey, Guernsey, and Bermuda law.

Rajah leads the Middle East desk for the Channel Islands, focusing on international business development in the Middle East, coordinating with multiple offices.

Rajah is the Deputy Chair of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Jersey Branch, and she regularly speaks in the Middle East, London, Jersey and Bermuda.

Work Highlights

A selection of Rajah's recent representative experience includes:

- Assisting in restoring two family trusts to good standing by addressing past mismanagement, correcting flawed exercises of powers, and updating trust terms, value of US$2.4bn.

- Advising an ultra-high-net-worth individual to establish a Jersey Foundation structure to hold their personal wealth valued at US$1.5bn.

- Advising an ultra-high-net-worth individual to amend multiple trusts valued at US$1.5bn for the benefit of them and their family.

- Representing one of the largest companies in Jersey in negotiations over the reservation of powers when establishing a new structure.

- Representing a Jersey trustee company regarding a complicated and technical point on an undefined area of law in Jersey - surrogacy involving two interconnected trusts.

Experience

Before joining Walkers Guernsey office in 2019, Rajah was a Partner in a Guernsey law firm, having also previously been a multi-jurisdictional in-house counsel for an international trust company in the Cayman Islands.

Rajah moved to Walkers Jersey office in 2023.

She is a practising Bermuda barrister and attorney, having qualified in Bermuda in 2009.

She qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 2005.
