Daniel Read

Daniel leads our Employment practice group in Jersey and has over 13 years' experience in Jersey with a focus on advising financial services organisations on all aspects of the employment relationship.

As a Jersey advocate, he represents clients in Royal Court and Employment and Discrimination Tribunal cases, providing strategic advice on:

- employee relations

- sickness absence

- investigations

- disciplinary and grievance procedures

- whistleblowing and discrimination claims

- restructuring, redundancy and regulatory matters

- enforcing post-termination restrictions

Daniel also advises on business licensing, immigration, data protection and drafts and negotiates employment documentation.

He works closely with Walkers Investment Funds and Corporate team on employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions and brings valuable in-house experience from a six-month secondment with a major bank.

Daniel previously worked for another leading offshore law firm in Jersey in their Employment and Dispute Resolution department. Before that he was a barrister at a leading common law chambers in London for five years.
